None

The incomprehensible should cause suspicion rather than admiration.

Electronic Mother is pleased to announce the release of a modified version of the Joomla content.html.php file.  It removes the Images Tab from the bottom of the content editor, leaving only the Publishing and Metadata tabs.  It is intended for websites that do not use mosimage because they have replaced the standard Joomla WYSIWYG editor with JCE Editor

JCE Editor is vastly easier-to-use, more powerful, and easier-to-customize than the standard Joomla editor.  In particular, the image upload/insert tool of the JCE Editor ensures that you will never use mosimage again.

Once you replace the standard Joomla editor with JCE Editor, you can make your websites even friendlier for your Authors, Editors, and Publishers by removing the Images Tab from the bottom of the content editor.

The file can be found in our downloads section, under the category: "Joomla! Hacks".   Copy it to /components/com_content/content.html.php .

If you can't use our modified content.html.php file because you have already hacked yours in other ways, you can remove the Images Tab from your own file as follows:

At line 1165, replace:

$tabs->startTab( _E_IMAGES, 'images-page' );
?>
< table class="adminform">

with:

// JLW $tabs->startTab( _E_IMAGES, 'images-page' );
?>
<!-- JLW  table class="adminform">

And at line 1291, replace:

</table>
<?php
$tabs->endTab();

with:

</table  JLW -->
<?php
// JLW $tabs->endTab();

This removes the Images tab, but this change will break the editor's Save and Apply buttons, unless we comment out their attempt to use the imagelist variable that was defined in the Image tab.

Please note that this was a bug in the file originally available in our download section.  If you downloaded before January 16, 2008, please download the latest version.

So find and replace this:

         function submitbutton(pressbutton) {
            var form = document.adminForm;
            if (pressbutton == 'cancel') {
                submitform( pressbutton );
                return;
            }
            // var goodexit=false;
            // assemble the images back into one field
            form.goodexit.value=1;
            var temp = new Array;
            for (var i=0, n=form.imagelist.options.length; i < n; i++) {
                temp[i] = form.imagelist.options[i].value;
            }
            form.images.value = temp.join( '\n' );
            try {
                form.onsubmit();
            }

With this:

         function submitbutton(pressbutton) {
            var form = document.adminForm;
            if (pressbutton == 'cancel') {
                submitform( pressbutton );
                return;
            }

            // var goodexit=false;
            // assemble the images back into one field
            form.goodexit.value=1;

            /*  JLW  this is needed to let the button work,
                 since we commented out the mosimages Images tab
                 at the bottom of the content editor!!!
            var temp = new Array;
            for (var i=0, n=form.imagelist.options.length; i < n; i++) {
                temp[i] = form.imagelist.options[i].value;
            }
            form.images.value = temp.join( '\n' );
            JLW    */

            try {
                form.onsubmit();
            }

That's it!
